The current economy is supplanted by speculative finance which, with its indicators, such as GDP (Gross Domestic Product), deficit and public debt, spreads, IQs (Quantitative Easing), employment indices, etc., makes the technical language incomprehensible to the masses.

In an incomprehensible condition it is easy to circumvent the minds of those who are not familiar with the subject. Keeping the masses in ignorance allows the management of resources to the advantage of a few and therefore to the disadvantage of the population.

Over the years finance has become increasingly ruthless, relegating man to a marginal role, replacing his value with that of material goods, exploiting him to the point of consuming him in his essence. Slavery has never disappeared, it has only been transformed.

The media play a key role in the mental conditioning of the population. Their complicity in concealing the truth is now clear, but their communication is so well-crafted that it is still effective against the vast majority of the population.

Hearing the media announce degrowth, recession, economic crisis, deficit, public debt, etc. causes the listener a state of apathy, distrust and helplessness. But what does all this actually mean? Nothing! There is no tangible meaning in completely misleading statements. These are linguistic lucubrations with which to keep people away from the meanders of the shady power games. If this were not the case, people would understand the deep deception in which they have been placed since time immemorial and could remedy the current unfortunate situation.

In a world that gives abundance gratuitously, it is not credible to say that scarcity of money is the cause of social malaise. Scarcity, however, caused by arbitrary and questionable, often even illegal, manoeuvres.

An economically deficient population is like a bleeding, debilitated, unresponsive body. In such a condition it is easily controllable and manageable.

The elitist objective is not the happiness and well-being of the individual, but the maintenance of one's condition of privilege and the exploitation and control of the masses. This objective is easily achievable when people are frightened and demoralized.

Each individual is involved and is free to express himself or herself at his or her best and compare himself or herself with others. The ruthless logic of the market, which dominates the current economy and grinds human lives mercilessly, will have to give way to a philosophy imbued with confidence in man, his potential and his ethics.
